Berkshire Youth (formerly Berkshire Association of Clubs for Young People) has been serving the young people of Berkshire, delivering excellent and highly efficient youth support services for 80 years. Founded as Boys Clubs in 1940, we are the only Berkshire County Organisation of type to continue supporting youth work, youth leaders and young people across Berkshire and within the six unitary authorities. We have continued to develop new opportunities for both youth leaders and young people over this considerable period.
Our operation today generates an impressive £2.65 of social value for every £1 it spends. We are proud of this track record and are committed to build on this success over the coming years to support young people make successful transitions to adulthood.
As a local independent organisation, we are connected to our community. We have established working relations with 64 organisations and agencies across the county, including local alcohol prevention teams, the Youth Offending Service, the Police, local counsellors, community and church groups. We deliver services at the community level both in our own facilities and in local youth clubs.
We provide a complete continuum of services for young people, from our detached and outreach work, through local youth clubs and our ‘inspired facilities’, onto our accredited Leadership Programme, with further opportunities in volunteering and employment in our charity or with other community youth services which we support.
