About The Wayz

The Wayz is a safe and pleasant place for young people in the local area to attend, where there are numerous projects available which cater for a wide cross section of young people.  The Wayz enables and empowers young people to be engaged and actively participate in a variety of activities and opportunities.  This provides an arena to help support young people gain the confidence and understanding when dealing with current issues and challenges in their lives.

The work of the detached team in Bracknell has been recognised by local stakeholders as making a real difference.  Berkshire Youth sits on the key local decision-making groups; including the Bracknell Town Regeneration ASB group, Braknell Against Crime Group, Local Safeguarding Children's Board Communications and Community Engagement Group, Sexual Exploitation Missing and At Risk Committee and the Early Intervention Hub.  We also have bi-weekly meetings with loal police at the ward level.

Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

The Wayz Youth Centre was one of three voluntary groups in Berkshire to gain the 2018 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of providing services and support to young people and adults to enable them to volunteer within their local communities.

A record 250 voluntary groups from across the UK will receive a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for their work in their communities.  This is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK to recognise exceptional service within their communities.
